How to Consign at Houndstooth (HAMILTON)

We’re excited to receive your pre-loved items for consignment at Houndstooth Boston or Houndstooth Hamilton. Here’s what you need to know:

​

• We accept current women's clothing, footwear, accessories, women's Jewelry, Limited menswear (Hamilton Only), home goods and small furnishings (Hamilton Only).

​

• Items should be ‘like new’, gently used, or new with tags (NWT).

​

• Consignment in Hamilton is by Appointment Only. Please make your consignment appointment in advance by visiting the "Book Appointment" page on our site.  

​

• Per visit to Houndstooth, you should please limit your consigned items to no more than 20 of your best items.

​

• We prefer in-season items but can accept some limited pre-season goods to our discretion. 

​

• Houndstooth will steam and present items to their best advantage. If we find a tear, stain, holes or other defect, items will be donated, except for “Luxury Items.”

​

• Please note, if you need to drop off and prefer not to wait for us to assess your items, you may leave your goods provided any unaccepted items will be donated at Houndstooth’s discretion.

​

• We cannot return hangers or shoeboxes accompanying your consignment, so if you anticipate wanting these back please do not leave them with us.

​

• ​Be advised that your items may be marketed or sold at any Houndstooth location. 

​

 

Payment, Fees and Commissions:

​

Please pay special attention to the following:

​

• Payments: If your consignment balance is $50 or more, your check will be mailed on or about the 1st of each month. (If balances are less than $50, then balances are retained in consignors account, however consignors may present in person to request a check.

​

• Commission Rate: Consignors receive 40% of the sale price of consigned items for all items under $200. For items priced at or above $200 (ie. “Luxury Items”), consignors receive 50% of the sale price. For items priced at above $1000 consignors receive 60% of the sale price.

​

• Postage Fee: A check postage fee of $2.00 will be deducted from any check mailed to you.

​

• Handling Fee: Please note that a handling fee of $1.00 is added to the sale price of each item, payable to Houndstooth and charged to the buyer (not to the Consignor) to defray costs of steaming, cleaning, presentation and wrapping.

​

• Consignor Credit: Consignors may elect to have all sales retained as consignor credit. The above rules, terms and conditions apply to the Houndstooth LLC Consignment Agreement, as they may be applied from time to time, and may be changed without notice by Houndstooth LLC in its sole discretion.
